Ms Anna Moon MD PhD
Consultant Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon

Ms Anna Moon has been a consultant hand surgeon at Worcestershire Acute Hospital Trust since 2005. She works across all three site locations which includes the Alexandra Hospital, Worcester Royal Hospital and Kidderminster Hospital.
She set up a countywide Hand service which covers Worcestershire and part of Warwickshire.
Ms Moon deals with secondary and tertiary referrals.
She studied medicine at Safarik University in Kosice, Slovakia. She then trained in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Slovakia, Austria and in the UK. She wrote her PhD Thesis on microsurgical techniques in Hand Surgery. She has extensively trained with specialists in hand surgery and microsurgery and performed more than one hundred replantations (microsurgical re-attachment of amputated hands and fingers).
Ms Moon has recently returned from her eighteen month sabbatical which was spent at a hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where she was working with Plastic Surgeons on complex hand injuries including microsurgery.
She routinely performs a range of procedures including, wrist arthroscopy, tendon and ligament repair, microsurgical nerve repair, dupuytren’s fasciectomy, carpal tunnel release and bone fixation.
She is a member of BSSH (British Society of Surgery of the Hand), BOA (British Orthopaedic Association), and BMA (British Medical Association).
Ms Anna Moon is married to Nick Moon, a company director and they have three year old twins, Sophie and Charlie and Rosie who has just turned one years old.
When not working Ms Moon enjoys walking, cycling, skiing, gardening, cooking and outdoor living.
