Karie BurbeckChief ExecutiveKarie has worked for the Joint Clinic since 2005 initially responsible for marketing. She was appointed Chief Executive in April 2009 for The Joint Clinic and The Hawthorns Private Medical Consulting Rooms. Karie started her career as a police officer with Thames Valley Police from 1980 until 1994 where she spent the majority of her service working as a detective. She left to have a family, to further her education and to pursue a new career in the business world. In March 1996 she became Administration Manager at Handling Concepts Ltd where she was later made Company Secretary, and still holds that office. She qualified with the Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2003 and started her own business offering freelance Marketing Consultancy. Karie was invited to become a fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce (RSA) in 2007. She acted for two years as Company Secretary for MDC Publishing Ltd, now The Kids Taskforce. She is Director and Company Secretary for Burbeck Ltd. Karie is a Trustee for Styleacre, an Oxfordshire based charity providing supported living for adults with learning disabilities. Karie has a keen interest in health and is passionate about excellent customer service. In her spare time, she loves walking and cooking and spending time with her family. She also enjoys skiing and cycling. |

Julia TalbotAccounts ManagerJulia qualified as a Medical Secretary in 1989 and then went on to work for a Merchant Bank. After having her family she became self-employed doing a wide variety of jobs ranging from driving Doctors at Worcester Races to doing Farm Secretarial work. Julia joined the Joint Clinic in October 2005 and has since been promoted to Accounts Manager. She is also responsible for co-ordinating the Worcestershire Anaesthetic Rota. She is a keen tennis player, walker and skier. |

Sally-Ann BeckettMedical SecretarySally-Ann has worked at several GP practices over her career and then when she had her son she became private secretary to Mr. S Perry the Ophthalmologist and has done his private work at home for 8 years. Last June, Sally-Ann decided she would like to go out to work and was lucky enough to be offered a medical secretary job at The Joint Clinic which she really enjoys. Sally-Ann's hobbies are tennis, swimming and meeting up with friends when she can. |

Sheree HallMedical SecretarySheree qualified as a Medical Secretary in 1998, having previously worked in the healthcare industry in a secretarial role. She has wide experience having previously worked as secretary/PA to Consultants in various specialities, including paediatrics and palliative medicine. Having relocated to Worcester in 2007 she continued in her medical secretarial role in general practice until joining the Joint Clinic in December 2009. |

Sarah ReadingClinic SupervisorSarah trained as an RGN in The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn. Throughout her career she has worked in an Intensive and Coronary Care, Acute Surgical Receiving and Neurosugical/Neuromedical Units. Sarah then completed an extensive course in learning about the conditions and treatments of neurological conditions and management of the busy unit, in Queens Medical Centre Nottingham. Following a move to Scotland with her husband and giving birth to her sons, she worked for a short while as a district nurse before moving back to Worcestershire. |

Sue CarterAdminstrative AssistantSue worked in the NHS, Department of Finance and Information, Accounts department and later Internal Audit. She left to have her first child in 1991 and then worked part-time for her husband, Nick, who runs an LPG Distribution business. In 2007 she joined The Droitwich Spa Hospital as part of the reception team also working in the customer services and bookings department. In November 2008, Sue moved to The Joint Clinic as receptionist and is now responsible for admin/secretarial support. |

Chris CarleyRGNChris trained as an SRN and Midwife in Salisbury and the East End of London. She then worked as a staff nurse in Salisbury in several departments gaining experience across many specialities. After further training in Tropical Diseases and Family Planning she worked for 4 years in a rural hospital in Zimbabwe, then Rhodesia. Chris was in charge of the Outpatients Dept, often taking on the role of doctor, and also the Operating Theatre where she gave the anaesthetics! On return to England, Chris studied for the Diploma in Nursing and also trained as a Clinical Tutor. She worked in that speciality for a year but missed the acute environment so transferred to Intensive Care, eventually becoming a senior sister. In 1994 Chris and her husband, Richard, and two children, moved to Worcestershire. Following a further time in Intensive Care, Chris transferred to the Day Surgery Unit at Kidderminster. Her last NHS appointment was in pre-operative assessment. |
